The commemoration area
The commemoration area which was opened to the public in 1961 is dominated by a 23-metre-high pylon. The monumental entrance staircase that runs to it is lined by two imposing sculptures. The left one depicts an oath taken at a combat flag, the right one symbolises victory and peace. read more
